Pastime
Pastime is the sweetest of moments when a man has nothing
specific to do. When he is his own master and can depose of his spare time at
his own suit and will. In pastime, a man is not only free from works but also
free from worries and tensions. It is very necessary to lead a healthy and
happy life. It is not a non-activity but it implies an activity which is
meaningful, potential, and enjoyable. It is for its own sake as it is a period
of personal fulfillment and pleasure. It is so to speak, a freedom of monotony,
boredom drudgery of life. City people spend their pastime by enjoying and doing
many things. They play cricket, football, chess and many other games and
sports. They visit the place of historical interest, go on picnic perform
different cultural activities. They also spend their pastime by reading books,
watching television and listening music. Nowadays they are found busy with
electronic devices. The old people spend their pastime by reading scriptures,
newspapers, and books. They also play cards and chess. Sometimes they are seen
walking together in the morning. On the other hand, the rural people spend
their pastime by gossiping, playing cards, listening stories, enjoying jarigan,
sharigan, kobigan and by playing country
games like ha-du-du. Pastime breaks upon the monotony of existence with a touch
of variety. Man is under necessity of leisure. After a tiresome work, a period
of pastime makes a man fresh, energetic to finish the unfinished work. So everybody
should try to find pastime and to enjoy it to make the life happy and peaceful.
